My great grandmother MARY (BROWN) AUSTIN, widow of THOMAS AUSTIN died in Portland on July 19th, 1913, at the home of her daughter JANET MABLE FREEMAN (known as NETTIE), and son in law NICK FREEMAN (NICHOLAS?) 412 Harrison, Portland Or., Nick and Nettie had at least 2 daughters, Francis and Edna. Nick and Nettie Freeman were married Nov 8, 1885, by J.A Campbell in Washington, Co. They made their home in or near Cornelius. Nettie died April 18, 1933 at the Oregon State Hospital in Salem. Mary was buried in a cemetery in Washington, CO., at a gravesite in which her daughter ISADORA HEWITT (WALKER) (known by DORA), and her grand daughter OLIVE MYRTLE HEWITT were buried.( Dora's second husband was W.B.WALKER. They were married March 29 1886, in Washington Co. at Mary's home, and also by J.A. Campbell.) The location of the cemetery is "Cemetery W. of Hillsboro, N1/2 of Lot 73, Tuality Lodge No. 6, A.F. & A.M." This description was sent to my grandfather but not the name of the Cemetery. The headstone reads as follows; MARY AUSTIN 1828-1913, DORA HEWITT 1858-1889, OLIVE HEWITT 1880-18--(can't read). Nettie and Dora had a brother JOHN AUSTIN, and sister ANNA AUSTIN WOOD or WOODS, EDWARD R. AUSTIN (my grandfather who later changed his name to FRANK EDWARD AUSTIN), and others. Can any one help? I need: 1. Mary's Obituary (I have death certificate) 2. Netties Obituary ( I have death certificate) 3. Cemetery Name and location 4. Any information on descendents or other family members of Austin's, Freeman, Hewitt or Walker or Wood. I have photos and information to share. HELP???? Thank you, Arlene Austin Robinson robinsar@earthlink.net
