    3. Names mentioned in a Wedding anniversay article.. 1928 CELEBRATES GOLDEN WEDDING --- Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Lord celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary January 10th at the home of their daughter, Mrs. W.S. Sanders of Portland, Oregon. A family dinner was held at 12:30 o'clock and from 3 to 5 p.m. and after 7 p-.m. friends called to extend congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lord. These gusts were served coffee, sandwiches and wedding cake by Mrs. Tom Lord, Jr. and Mrs. Stephenson. - Mrs. Lord's near neighbor At 6 o'clock while the family were seated at the dinner table radio station KGW, Portland, came on the air and announced that in honor of the celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Lord's golden wedding anniversary the studio orchestra would render the "Wedding March." During the afternoon Mr. Jacobson sang a number of songs and Cornelia Lord favored with some "old songs" on the violin. Mr. Tennylson sang and Cornelia played again through the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lord received many beautiful gifts and flowers; as well as $60 in gold - given them by the children. It was a beautiful day and was one long to be remembered. Tom Lord and family and Mrs. Edna Mullen left by auto for Bremerton Wednesday morning. --- The Portland paper had the following to say of the affair. --- Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Lord celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Jan 10 at the home of their daughter, Mrs. W.S. Sanders, 5703 Eighty-third street Southeast, when all their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren gathered to felicitate them upon the event. Mr. and Mrs. Lord were married January 10, 1878, in a log house near Watkins, O. After residing in Cleveland for a number of years they went to Kansas, where they lived for 30 years. Seventeen years ago they came to Portland, where they have since made their home. The children of Mr. and Mrs. Lord are W.S. Sanders and Mrs. Francis White, Portland: T.C. Lord, Jr., Bremerton, Wash. The grandchildren are Miss Cornelia Lord and Mrs. David Young and the great grandchildren Carol May Young and David Young Jr.
