Jeanne, I will be going to the library late next week and can look up the obit if you like. Please answer privately to my email address if you want me to do it. I am also a volunteer for the Portland area, and there is no charge for one copy of the obit. Pat Palmer in Portland, Oregon Greetings from MN, My Mother's cousin, Arthur Cherveny, born Oct. 8,1893 in MN, moved to Oregon sometime in his adult years and died there in Feb 1977. Is there any on-line Obit index, or Newspaper index, etc for me to search? Or is there someone willing to check the local newspapers for me? Thank you very much. Jeanne < Jeanne - I don't know if you've gotten any help on this one, but I checked the Oregonian index and he did have an obituary - it was in the Feb 13, 1977 paper, page C5, column 1. It indicated he was 83 at his death. Unfortunately, I don't go to the public library often, where the newspapers are. Hopefully, you'll find someone who does. You might have better luck with the exact citation - or you could interlibrary loan the microfilm into your local library.
