Hi Sharon This is the information I received yesterday when I inquired to the Portland Public Schools for information; "We have a pretty good collection of yearbooks in this office. Each of our schools also have a collection of their own yearbooks. We respond to phone, fax, mail and personal visits. Mallett (known given names James, Deo, Rachel, ) Kenny (Paul, Francis, Keeva, Willa, John) McCormick ( Willa, Robert ) Long (Rachel)
Mary Jayne, I looked on the Oregon Archives - didn't find a divorce, but thought you might be interested in this: 1895 Multnomah County Census: J. Mallett, Pct 22, page 049 James Mallet, Pct 22, page 041 There was no Rachel, indicating to me that the divorce had perhaps already taken place. - if one of these two are yours. I found my g grandparent's divorce records at the Oregon Archives - divorced in 1907. When I visited there in Salem, I was able to copy the entire original file. You might write to the archives and give them the information - not everything they have is on the Internet. If they have it, it is 25 cents per photo copy page and postage. Their e-mail is: <reference.archives@state.or.us> Good luck, Karol California Subject: [ORMULTNO-L] Divorce Decree Date: Fri, 18 Aug 2000 22:08:23 EDT From: MaryJElmo@aol.com To: ORMULTNO-L@rootsweb.com Hello All, I am new to the list and im sorry you have probably been asked this question a million times But., I am Trying to obtain a Divore Decree for a James Mallett and Rachel Armini Long in Multnomah between 1881-1913, Is there any way to obtain that record without knowing the exact date? I realize this is a lot to ask but I am getting desparate. I am looking for records of KENNETH FORREST ROSS, EDITH MAY BERRY ROSS, GOLDA ROSS SANDERS. They were in Portland in 1943-44 and died there in 1963-64. Can any one look through The Portland Directories for 1950-1964 and send me any information they find? I have death notices for KENNETH and GOLDA but cant find a possible death date for EDITH. She was their mother and was living with KENNETH in the 43-44 Directory so I am sure they continued to live in the Portland area to and after her death until their deaths in 1963-64. GOLDA's husband was CHARLES and they had two children that I know of, ROBERT SANDERS and MARY SANDERS WOOD if that helps any. It's the death certificate that I cannot locate. I have checked with the Oregon Archives, Washington Vital Records Office and have had the CADI researced. I thought a burial permit might at least show the State he was transferred from since he doesn't appear to have died in OR, WA, or CA. Thanks for your help.
