Hi all, I'm searching for information on a place called Hazelwood home which was located at 13007 North East Glison, Portland, Oregon... My great grandmother, Anna (called Annie) Marie/Maria Trombley (nee Martin) spent some of her last days there and I would truly like to find out about their records... I have searched the Oregon death indexes until my fingers were worn to nubs and haven't been able to locate her... Trombley is an often misspelled surname and as I'm not sure of her death date only that it was in February or March (my mom thinks) between 1945 and 1953 I am lost on trying to locate her death registration. I require the death registration in order to receive census information on her from a form she would have filled out in Millardville, BC in the late 30's and early 1940's. Any help would be appreciated. Hi Everyone... I am new to this list and thought I'd start with asking a question... I'm looking for some information about a Mrs. R. I am trying to locate any information on Helen Zack. I believe she lived in Portland but am not certain. She provided the information for the death certificate of my "missing/now located" aunt, Nellie McFarland Reimers and I am hoping to learn more about this unknown ancestor. Does anyone have any information to help me locate Helen Zack or her children? My aunt's last address was 2480 N.W. Quimby Street if that will help. Many thanks. Conni in Ohio
I'm looking for information about Doreen Garbor, (not sure about the spelling of last name) Geibar, Giebar Her father was a physician in Oregon. Thats about all I know. Would appreciate any information. Sincerely, Wanda
I believe "r" stands for "rents" and "bds" stands for "boards". The abbreviations are defined, in the beginning of the directory, I think. "H" stands for "homeowner". Linda

I received the following question and do not know the answer. Perhaps someone else might be of some help to Deborah Walters, dwdwone@direct.ca Dear Mr. Porter, I am my families genealogist and I am writing to you with the hopes that you might be able to assist me in locating some information on the death of my great grandmother Annie Trombley. My great grandmother spent her declining years in a rest home in Portland, Oregon. The rest home was the Hazelwood home which was located at 13007 North East Glison, Portland, Oregon in the 1940's and 1950's. >From research and help on several Washington and Oregon lists I have ascertained that there is a rest home on the above mentioned site to this day... however I have contacted them and they have informed me that their particular building was erected in about 1960 and they do not know where the previous homes records might be. What I'm hoping you might be able to provide me with is information on the original home and where it's records might be located. You see my great grandmother passed away between the years of 1944 and 1953 (sadly no one seems to remember), what I am hoping to find out is what year she died and to locate her death registration. I have searched the Oregon Death indexes that are online as well as having a researcher have a look in person. My problem is that my great grandmother's surname was often misspelled (her son's death record was found after 100's of possible combinations were tried, his name was Leo Trombley and it was spelled Tromrley) and after searching endlessly I haven't been able to locate her. My great grandmother's name was Anna (called Annie) Maria/Marie Trombley (nee Martin). She was born in approximately 1876, what I hope to find on her death registration is her birth place, date of birth and parents names. I was given your name by a kind list member who thought that you might be able to help me... Please if there is anything you can do I would appreciate it greatly. Sincerely, Deborah Walters BC, Canada

Hello! I am new on this list and need some help! My name is David Auvenshine. I'm looking for Ara (Auvenshine) Mason or her family. Her father Bryon was my great uncle and left Texas for Portland in about 1920 or 1930. Bryon died in Portland on June 28, 1962 and Ara Mason gave the information on the death certificate. Bryon's residence was listed as Colonial Manor 2408 North Terry Portland and was buried by Davy Sunnyside Funeral Home at Lincoln Memorial Park. I have not been able to find either of these places listed in the phone book or online. I was wondering if you could provide me with any information about them. In particular, I am looking for Ara Mason and family or her sister Nola Boatwright. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Looking to make contact with descendant, or someone knowledgeable, about Mrs. Andrew J. Swanson. Would like to learn first name of Mrs. Swanson. I believe Mrs. Swanson was living at 1414 N. E. 74th Ave. in Portland, Oregon in 1946. She is listed as the informant on the death certificate of Mora McCune Rizer. Mora died 1 Nov 1946 in Portland. Mora was the dau. of John McCune and Margaret Oglebuy, and was the widow of Albert A. Rizer. She may have also been married prior to Albert Rizer. I believe Mrs. Andrew J. Swanson may have been either the daughter or step-daughter of Mora McCune Rizer. Mora Rizer may have also had a son, or grandson, named J. Gerald Duvail, also living in the Portland area in 1946. Thank you, Kathleen Rizer

Searching for information on Jonas PALSSON who came from Sweden around 1923. He was my grandmothers brother. He was born in 1880 around Jamtland, Sweden. My grandmothers name was Hulda. Their parents were Jonas and Maria PALSSON. Jonas or John married and had two daughters, Lillian and Alice. My mother recalls that Lillian married a man named Ted and they had a daughter. Alice had a son. The daughters could have lived in Washington County. John and his family lived at or around 34th and Holman in Portland, Oregon before the girls were married. Hulda married my grandfather, Peter ECK. thanks! *Julie Hendrix Clackamas, OR "At lunch time, sit in your parked car and point your hair dryer at passing cars to see if they slow down." ~~Researching~~ Canada~~ECK, SHORTELL England~~SLEIGHT Russia~~ANKLAM, PAHL, RAUSER, RICHTER, SIVERT, SPIES Sweden~~ECK (EK), ERSDOTTER, MARTENSDOTTER, PALSSON IL~~EMERICK, LAWYER, SCHAFFER, SHAW MI~~MCARTHUR NY~~MOE OR~~BRANT, BRUNDAGE, D'ARCY, DEAN, ECK, FREDERICK, GROSS, HALL, HEAD, HERSHBERGER, HOUSTON, KRAMER, LAWYER, NOCCHI, PALSSON, ROLLINS, SCHAEFFER, SLEIGHT, SMITH, SPIES, STEAGALL, TAYLOR, WALLACE VA~~EMERICK, SESSLER WA~~BRANT, LAWYER, MOE, OLSON, PATTERSON, WALLACE WI~~SMITH
