I,ve been going thru deeds recorded in Marion Co. during 1850-1860. Located several that had surname that I am researching, "Grier". Weird though that first name "Jerome B." was listed as grantee. If he is the Jerome B. that I have in my line then he would be only 5 yrs. old at the time. My question is, Would there be some advantage for an adult to list his son as the buyer of property? Is this something that was done back then for some reason unknown to me? Would it have been possible for this to happen? I guess that's several questions. Anyone got any ideas? Of course I am considering that this Jerome was an adult and isn't in my line, but I thought I'd throw this out anyway and see what I heard. Thanks Brian
