Hi...I too would like to add my family and query's to the surname list AUSTIN & BEACH My great-grandparents, John Beach & Martha Lasira (Noble) Beach, along with their daughter Jessie May Beach, moved to Woodburn about the turn of the century, from Thornapple Michigan. They were members of the Woodburn Methodist church. (I have an old photo of the church as well as Sunday school lessons and numerous postcards received by my grandmother from Silverton and various areas). John was a U.S. Marshall, have a photo with his badge on, in either Woodburn or Salem. John's brother, Amos Beach, also moved here from Thornapple, and had at least a son George, and a daughter, with him. I haven't found her name or Amos's wife's name yet. Both John and Amos were Union Cavalry veterans, Mich 6th Cavalry Co. K, John was wounded and Amos taken prisoner. Both attended the reunion of men who fought at Gettysburg. I have photo's and news clippings, and momentos of the Gettysburg reunion train. The Beach's are all buried at Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn, along with Jessie's first child, Frank Austin. Jessie married Frank Edward Austin (aka Edward R.) abt. 1910 in Salem. He was the son of Thomas and Mary Austin. Mary and children came to Oregon from Iowa just after 1870. More later.
