    3. I also would be interested in this book. I am researching James CULLY b. January 5, 1880 in Portland Oregon, d. 1965 Silverton Oregon. James married a Laura PARRY, I have information on their children but would love information on the parents as my nephews father is a grandson of James Cully. Stories from the family suggest that Laura traveled on a wagon train from? to Oregon. Any information on this family would be appreciated, thanks in advance...Karin Locke davidkarin@msn.com -----Original Message----- From: snHarthun <harthun@pacbell.net> To: ORMARION-L@rootsweb.com <ORMARION-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, October 27, 1998 2:39 PM Subject: [ORMARION-L] Re: ORMARION-D Digest V98 #23 >Hello! > >I too would be most interested in finding out about the availability of >"The Marion County Book of Rememberance". 3. Hello there. I am searching for a book published in Marion County around 1920. It is entitled "The Marion County Book of Remembrance" and it is a collection of accounts of the pioneers that settled the county in the late 1800s. My family had a copy when I was young, but it has since disappeared. I have four photocopied pages of my ancestors, Charles Benson and Absalom Greenstreet, but nothing more. I would LOVE to have a copy of this book. If anyone knows where I can find it, I would really appreciate the information. Thanks so much for your help. Sincerely, Ansara Hirst

    3. Dear Linda: Thanks so much for posting the Aurora story. My folks came over the trail to the Willamette in 1853. I have visited Aurora and now better understand the spiritual basis for that community. My Joneses buried a son, Willie, in 1855 to start the pioneer cemetary in Brooks, Oregon, a few miles South of Aurora. I wonder what the predominantly English community thought of these hardworking Germans. Did most of them respect their industrial ways of were they regarded as "foreigners". I would like to believe the former....Jay ORMARION-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Subject: > > ORMARION-D Digest Volume 98 : Issue 20 > > Today's Topics: > #1 New listowner for ORMarion-L ["Linda Nichols" <linred@hotmail.co] > #2 [ORMARION-L] Aurora Colony ["Linda Nichols" <linred@hotmail.co] > > Administrivia: > To unsubscribe from ORMARION-D, send a message to > > ORMARION-D-request@rootsweb.com > > that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > > and no other text.
