Jan 27 1962 issue Mrs. Fannie Bilyeu, 82, Former Scioan Passes Away Friday in Albany Mrs. Fannie Bilyeu, 82, of Albany Rt. 1 Box 259, passed away early Friday Dec.21. 1962 at the home of her daughter, 1225 Shortridge Lane, Albany after a short illness. A daughter of Isaac N. and Susan(Van Sicle) Hewes, she was born December 15 1880 at Maple Hill, Kansas but came West when a baby and has lived in the Scio and Albany, Oregon areas all of her adult life. She was married in 1907 in Albany to Henry C. Bilyeu who died Nov. 24 1952. Surviving are one son and three daughters, viz. Wilbert H. Bilyeu, Mrs. Helen Bowers, Mrs. Lila Bond, all of Albany, and Mrs. Verlie Ellis of Portland. 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Chester Hewes of Yakima, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. May Hewes of Eugene, Mrs. Cora Robson of Hemet, Calif., and Mrs. Lillie Howells of Eugene, Ore.; also numerous neices and nephews. Funeral was held at the Fisher Funeral Home in Albany Monday forenoon, with Lester Jones of First Christian Church officiating. Interment was in Bilyeu Den cemetery, east of Scio.
