    3. Oct 8 1896 issue Scio Press GILKEY-SOMER-On September 30 1896, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Somer, by Elder Arthur Cane, Mr. William Gilkey and Miss Lizzie Somer, all of Linn county. The young couple who have pledged their vows to love and cherish each other as long as life shall last, are well known in this community. The ceremony which was a very impressive one, was performed at 10 A.M. The bride whore a cream colored albatross dress, trimmed in cream lace, and as the couple appeared on the floor the bride looked handsome and charming enough to satisfy the most fastidious requirements of the proud young husband. The ceremony was witnessed by the immediate relatives and friends after which an elegant wedding dinner was served. The bride and groom besides receiving the hearty congratulations of all present, received a number of elegant wedding presents. The usual charivari was tendered the happy couple after nightfall, and the participants were invited to partake of an elegant lunch to which they did ample justice.
