Greetings, I could use some help getting started with this elusive relative. Has anyone come across any Linn county references to: W. S. Tilton, b. about 1850, probably in MN, died after 1906 and before 1845, probably in Linn or Marion County. W. S. Tilton is the son of Julia Roberts (my gr-gr-grandmother) and George W. Tilton. George W. Tilton died in 1857, and Julia Roberts Tilton married second Fairfax Smith Thayer, my gr-gr-grandfather. The Thayers were early settlers in the Scio area. W. S. Tilton would have been half brother to my gr-grandfather, Frank Tilton Thayer. He is named in probate records regarding the estate of Frank Tilton Thayer's sister, Mamie Thayer Grisham. Possible clues: W. S. Tilton married Amy Longsworth in Marion County in 1885. I would very much like to contact descendants of W. S. Tilton. Any help appreciated -- I need a jump start here!
