Saturday, Sept. 25, at 9:00 a.m., there will be a tour of Fort Hoskins Historic Park. There will be displays of historic maps, photos, and other cultural objects planned by the representatives of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz and Grand Ronde. Other members of the committee will be on hand to answer historic inquiries. The Frantz-Dunn House will also be open. Built in the late 1860s, this Gothic Revival house is west of the site of the Ft. Hoskins infirmary. Future plans include an interpretive center with cultural treasures found during archaelogical excavations. The park is only open to the public at pre-arranged site visits and tours. The park is located in the northwest part of Benton County on Hoskins Road, 1.5 miles west of Kings Valley Highway 223.
