    3. Brownsville Times Oct 4, 1912 BROWNSVILLE from the Advertiser, May 16, 1878 A new church is to be erected on the South Side soon, by the Presbyterian denomination. Married--May 2, by Rev. Robe, at the residence of R. Finley, Morris Henry to Miss Edna Finley. We are very sorry to have to announce that Miss Clara Bishop is confined to her room by sickness. John Scott and Jas. Cox, both of Brownsville have gone into the butchering business with their headquarters at Crawfordsville. J. F. Hendrix, the nominee for State Senator on the Greenback ticket gave us a speech here on the 13th inst. There was but little enthusiasm manifested. Mr. Averill is going to run a preliminary railroad survey soon from this city to Albany. The prospects still look encouraging for this grand enterprise. Messrs. Kendig and Kiaffke, the enterprising saw mill men, have bought a site for a mill from the widow Simons and intend to move their steam saw mill down here next August. The crop prospect of this section never looked better; the farmers are nearly all done sowing and the season has been a good one. Grass is the best it has been for years, and cattle are in splendid condition. Butter is down to 18 cents. We fear the late frosts have injured the fruit crops. The Brownsville woolen Mills are shut down for general repairs. This is the first time they have stooped work entirely for a year; and just as soon as the dam and other things can be put in good repair they will commence again in real earnest, as the demand for their goods is great, and constantly increasing.
