Lebanon Express April 29, 1968 Laura V. Thome Private services were held at Mount Crest Abbey, Salem for Laura V. Thome, 88, 560 W. Rose St. who died Saturday, April 27 at Lebanon Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was born June 14, 1879 in Iowa. She had lived in Lebanon the last four years coming her from Salem where she had lived five years. Prior to that she had been in Seattle, WA. She had been a manager of apartment houses. She married Matt L. Thome in 1902 in Iowa. He preceded her in death November 1911. She was a member of the Salem Woodland Chapel. She is survived by one son, Van R. Thome Lebanon; and a brother, L.L. Van Steenburg, Portland and two grandchildren. Huston Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
