    3. Brownsville Times Nov 15, 1912 DROPPED DEAD IN PULPIT ------------------------- Rev. R.Z. Brown Succumbs to Hart Failure While Preach- ing at Crawfordsville ------------------------------- Rev. R. Z. Brown, of Philomath, dropped dead from heart failure last night at Crawfordsville while preaching in the M.E. church. Accounts of the sudden death of Rev. Brown disclose that he was supposed to be in the best of health at the time of his death. He had given out the hymns and had read his text and began delivering his sermon when he was seen to reel and reach for a chair behind him in the pulpit, but so sudden did death come that he slipped form the chair to the floor and was dead when the members of the congregation reached him. Rev. Brown was aged about 62 years and leaves a family consisting of a wife and son. His home was at Philomath, but he was filling the appointment as minister at Crawfordsville. The body will be taken to Philomath for burial, the funeral to be held Sunday.
