Brownsville Times May 16, 1913 Miss Laura M. Haverland was born in Illinois, July 28, 1880, and died in Salem, Oregon, May 10, 1913, at the age of 32 years, 9 months and 12 days. Deceased was a daughter of F. W. Haverland, deceased, who came to Oregon with his family in 1883, locating near Brownsville, where most of her life was spent. She united with the Presbyterian church of Brownsville February 14, 1897, and remained a member of that society until her death. Becoming ill several months ago she was taken to Salem for treatment, where she resided at the time of her death. Four brothers and one sister remain to mourn her loss, as follows; C. J. Haverland, R. J. Haverland, W. C. Haverland, E. J. Haverland, and Mrs. Will A. Amon, all of Brownsville. The remains were brought to Brownsville Sunday, the funeral being held in the Presbyterian church on Monday at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. C. F. Koehler, followed by interment in the Kirk cemetery.
