Brownsville Times Sept 6, 1912 Mary Wold was born in Norway June 13, 1836, was married to Gunearius Benson in 1861, and to this union was born nine children, four girls and five boys, five of which have preceded her to the grave. In 1880 she with her family emigrated to America and settled in Jackson county, Minnesota. In 1893 they moved to Oregon and made their home in the Mountain Home community about nine miles northeast of Brownsville, where she resided until death claimed her on August 26, 1912, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 13 days. She leaves to mourn her loss her aged husband, to whom she had been, wedded 51 years, and the following children; Gust Benson, Martin Benson, and Mrs. E.L. Boggie, of Mountain Home; Ole Benson, of Plainview, and one foster son, C. Carlson of Shedd, OR. She was baptized in the Lutherian faith when an infant and has been a faithful member of that church during her entire life.
