Lebanon Express March 12, 1936 DEATH OF JOHN J. BODE John Jewel Bode, son of Richard Henry and Caroline Bode, was born in Lebanon Sept 21, 1884; died at Roseburg OR March 11, 1936, at the age of 51 years, 5 mon, and 20 days. He was fire chief in Lebanon a number of years, he was also a national guardsman for 9 years. He went to Roseburg 8 years ago and has been engaged in farming. He is serviced by his widow--Ollie V. Bode of Mill Rose, OR, his mother Caroline Bode of Lebanon, his sister, Mrs. Helen Lettlejohn of Aberdeen, WA; Mrs. Florence Waggle of Powers, OR; two brothers Harry and R.C. Bode of Lebanon and many more distant relative and friends. Pall bearers will be members of the Lebanon Fire department. Burial will be in the Masonic Cem.
