    3. Brownsville Times May 23, 1913 Elizabeth R. Ralston was born in Vinago county, Ohio, August 1, 1844, and died in Salem, Oregon, May 19, 1913, aged 68 years, 9 months and 18 days. At the age of 6 years she was taken to Pennsylvania to reside, where she remained for a period of six years. Six years more were spent in Michigan, when she removed to Madison county, Iowa. On September 30, 1869, she was married to S. M. Ralston. The new family continued to reside in Iowa for five years more and then came to Oregon in August, 1875. They settled near Halsey and later removed to Brownsville, where the family home wa at the time of her death. She united with the M. E. church while quite young. After her marriage she united the United Presbyterian church. About six years ago, having become a resident of Brownsville, she and her husband united with the First Presbyterian church. All her life she lived a consistent Christian. Her greatest interest apart form her family was in her church; and because of this fact the family who remain behind have the great consolation that she has gone to her Maker in full acceptance. Because of her goodness and interest in others, she made many friends, and it was with deep sorrow that these saw her gradual decline in health, and breakdown of her physical energies. But neither the love of fiends nor family can stay the body in its decline and so she fell peacefully asleep. five children were born to the union. One son died at the age of 20 years. Those remaining are J. F. Ralston, of San Jose, CA; S. C. Ralston, of Salem. OR; E. C. Ralston, of Springfield, OR. and Mrs. Winnifred S. Cooley, of Enterprise. OR. Beside these children deceased is survived by her husband, S. M. Ralston, of this city. The remains were brought to the home in this city on Monday evening, the funeral taking place Thursday form the Presbyterian church, Rev. E. F. Koehler officiating. The body was interred in the Kirk cemetery southwest of Brownsville.
