Hi The Santiam News, 29 January 1904. Local. The news was received in the city Wednesday by Aunt Mary Hunt of the death of her nephew, Ben L. Capell, at Woodinville, Wash., who committed sucide by shooting himself through the head with a 30-30 calibre rifle. He was not a drinking man but on New Years day became slighty intoxicated and his friends joked him about it. He took the matter to heart and it is supposed brooded over it until he shot himself. He was 35 years old and has three brothers and one sister living in Callifornia. He was raised in California by Aunt Mary Hunt, and his death was a great shock to her. The remains were brought to Scio Thursday and interred in the Masonic Cemetery. I have a question for you, you said 'the Scio Museum Records indicate', does that mean there are records on the cemetery at the museum? The reason I ask is I'm just getting started on a book on Franklin Butte. You can e-mail direct at jerddunk@smt-net.com Jerry
