Hi Rick, Linn County records available at the Oregon State Archives indicate death records were not required by the state of Oregon until 1903. IL, father b. IL, mother b. IL [Note: This name could be Wott, it's difficult to tell] House 27 Nott, Cary C., b. 1871, age 29, married 4 years, farmer, b. MO, father b. IL, mother b. IL Maggie B., wife, b. 1871, age 28, dressmaker, b. KS, father b. IN, mother b. KY Elizabeth R., mother, b. 1831, age 68, widow, b. IL, father b. VA, mother b. KY There are no families named Nott or Knott in the 1905 Linn Co. census, not do I find the family in the 1910 Linn Co. census. I don't see any Notts listed in any Linn County cemetery. A quick email to the Oregon State Archives Reference Dept. might turn up something - perhaps they have older death records even if the county was not required to keep them. you can email [email protected] and they will look through their records.
