Pollard, Justice of the Peace. [ Abigail M (Parker) McCartney, the widow of Nathaniel McCartney, DLC 2167, sells about half of her late husband's land to Delphina R (Moody) and Bushrod W Hamilton. It appears she leased the other half of the land to them. After selling her land for $1200 and her husband's mill property for $600, Abigail and her children moved to Chico Twp., Butte, Calif., where they purchased 160 acres of land on what was known as the Aquos Noves Rancho or Hensley Grant. This accounts for Abigail reporting $1,800 in assets on the 1860 Census in Chico, Butte, Calif. Several years after Abigail's death in Chico Twp, Butte, Calif on 6 Mar 1864, her sons sold their remaining interest in Nathaniel's land to the Hamiltons, below.
