My family moved to Scio in 1921 and were part of the Czech community there. My grandparents lived in West Scio where my grandfather had his blacksmith shop (Rose Zemlicka and Claude Kendle). My mother Evelyn Kendle married first my father Kenneth (Ken/Kenny) Bormann and later Clarence Schwindt from Jordan. Clarence survives and lives in the family home in Lebanon.
