There is a lot written and recorded on Bilyeu. I believe that you will find Alford in some census records being spelled Alvord, too, on census and old surveyor maps. As for Van Cleave: I had not researched them and am unrelated, but recognize the surname from other research in records and old maps, too. You perhaps should consult Linn County Historical Society on this family and especially that suitcase of old photos, or try the museum at Brownsville, too.
