Albany Demarcate Herald Jan 1981 (forgot to write down the day) Carl Christiansen Lebanon--Services for Carl August Christiansen, 94, 1191 w. Oak St. will be at 2 pm Mon at Huston Funeral Home. The Rev. R Burnell Krager will officiate and burial will follow at the IOOF Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lebanon Commuity Hospital. He was born Oct 7, 1886, in Germany, and moved to New York City in 1911. Christiansen moved to Pendleton soon after his arrival in the United States and worked for his future father-in-law as a meat cutter. In 1913 he settled in Joseph were he was in the meat and livestock business. He moved to Brownsville in 1943 and to Lebanon in 1952. He had been confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Germany. He married Eugenia Platzoeder at Athena, OR in May 1911. She died in March 1953 survivors include three daughters, Eleanora Garrison, Emma Walton and Elfreda Spalinger, all of Lebanon, two brothers, John of Germany, and Hans of Silverton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
