Friday, January 7th, 2000 - Lebanon Genealogical Society's next meeting will be held at the Lebanon Public Library, 626 Second Street, Lebanon, at 7:00 p.m. The program will be "How to Find and Use Gazetteers." We will also have an election of officers for the new year. Saturday, January 8th, 2000 - The Linn Genealogical Society meets for their regular monthly meeting held at 1:00 p.m. at the Albany Public Library, 1390 Waverly Drive SE, in Albany. Program? (If anyone has info, please post it to the list so we all know.) They meet the first Saturday of every month. Sunday, January 16th, 2000 - Linn County Historical Society's January meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Center Mennonite Village in Albany [5353 Columbus St., SE]. Jeanne Gentry Richardson, Executive Director of the Oregon Historic Cemeteries Association, will speak on "Preserving Pioneer Cemeteries." If you're interested in Linn County's cemeteries, you won't want to miss this program. I wouldn't miss this one for the world! <grin> Friday, February 4th, 2000 - Lebanon Genealogical Society's February meeting will be held at the Lebanon Public Library, 626 Second Street, Lebanon, at 7:00 p.m. The program will be hosted by Byron Bray, Vice President of the Linn Genealogical Society in Albany, and he'll be talking about "Vital and Courthouse Records." Mark your calendars now. Sunday, March 12th, 2000 - Linn County Historical Society's March meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Center Mennonite Village in Albany. Richard Chesbrough, Captain of the 'Willamette Queen' steamship in Albany will speak on "Steamships on the Willamette," a fascinating look into the river traffic in Albany's early days, and the role it played in the development of the area. Sunday, May 14th, 2000 - Linn County Historical Society's May meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Center Mennonite Village in Albany. Susan G. Butruille, author of books about Women's Voices, will speak about "Marie Pantalon: The Lady Wore Pants!". Patricia Dunn will also give us a 'Lebanon Equivalent' with stories of Rae/Ray Leonard, a colorful part of Lebanon's past.
