Lebanon Express April 7, 1920 LEBANON PIONEER DIES AT ASHLAND HOSPITAL George W. Settle, 72, a pioneer of 1859 and for more than 40 years a resident of Oakland, died Thursday at the Ashland hospital. He was born in Illinois, February 22, 1848, and came to Oregon by way of Panama, settling first at Lebanon. He is survived by his wife and one son, Edward Settle of Oakland. He was a brother of J.M. Settle a well known resident of Lebanon.
