However, my parents were neighbors/friends of the Coulter family in Sweet Home. My Mother (died in 1989) saved a newspaper clipping of Frank P. Coulter's death. I don't show a date on it, but shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Nellie Walberg (my mother) was very close friend to Mina Hirschi, Frank Coulter's daughter. l If you would like more information....just e-mail and I will type this obit to you. Are you part of Coulter family? Darlene Pieri, living in Canby, Oregon.

Surnames: Knauf Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/zcB.2ACI/878.2.1 Message Board Post: Hello Sandra. Clarissa is the one that I am really looking for information on. I know that she was in Minnesota in 1900 with her husband, Joshua Lewis, and family, in 1900. It appears that she was in Scio by 1905 with Joshua and children. By 1910 she was seperated from Joshua, and living in Centralia with two children and a brother. She returned to Scio not long after that, but I don't have the dates. I am trying to get a better picture of when all of these moves were made, where the Knauf house was in Scio, and where Clarissa later settled in Scio before marying Art Shelton. I have information on this line from the 1600's in Germany through Pensylvania to Minnesota and then Scio, but just have bits and pieces of history of the Scio years. Dick Schack

    1. Govro family in Oregon
    2. I am searching for information on my great-great-grandfather and great-great-grandmother. They are John Govro (born around 1810 in France or Canada) and Mary E. Scott, born in 1817 in either Vermont or New York. My research indicates they were probably married in Vermont or New York and then moved to Illinois, where all of there children were born. Two of these children were Jerome (my great-grandfather, born in 1851) and Isaih Govro born in 1847. My research also indicates that Jerome and Isaih married sisters Margaret and Malissa Swart in Cerro Gordo, County, Iowa in 1870. I also have been in communication with the great-great-grandaughter of George Govro, who is another brother to Jerome and and Isaih. Her research indicates that Isiah and Malissa may have moved to Oregon shortly after their marriage. If this family line is familiar to anyway subscribing to this list, I would appreciate any help or information you can provide on either John or Mary.

    1. Re: 1905 Scio census
    2. Dick, The LDS church has microfilmed that 1905 census and you can order the film and view it at your "local" LDS Family History Center. I viewed this microfilm several years ago and I am recalling that it may be a transcription from the original manuscript but cannot say for certain. The film number is 908958 Item 3, for the Linn County, Oregon 1905 census. There are a number of LDS microfilms for Linn County including the 1885 and 1895 censuses, taxation, delinquent tax lists, death records (1903-15, 1915-47). You can get a listing of what microfilms the LDS FHC has available for loan on Linn County, Oregon by going to www.familysearch.com hit the "Library" link, hit the "Place" link and keyboard in Linn, choose Linn County Oregon and you're on your way. You do not have to be LDS to visit, order, and view these microfilms at an FHC.
