Lebanon Express Sept 7, 1888 On Tuesday Aug 21, 1888, Hon. W. S. A. Johns, county judge of Crook Co. died at Prineville, form inflammation of the bowel. Judge Johns was formerly a resident of Brownsville, where the greater portion of his early life was passed; an was admitted to the Oregon bar in 1881, after which he practiced law in partnership with B.R. Nichols at Prineville, the partnership existing from 1884 until 1886, when he was elected county judge The funeral took place on the 22nd. and was conducted by the Masonic fraternity, of which the deceased was a member.

Have located a Henry Thomas Curl family in Otis area of Lincoln County in census 1900. But I have no Henry Curl in my large Oregon Curl database.. Known Curls in OR territory at that time was the James W. and Bartlett W. Curl families and no sons by name of Henry. Does anyone have any ideas....better yet a Henry Curl to share.? FLORENCE (ROTH) MCTIMMONDS Sept 10, 1921 --Jan 21, 2001 Florence (Roth) McTimmonds, 79, of Albany, died Sunday. She was born in Albany, the daughter of Chris and Mary (Schlegel) Roth. She attended Albany Schools and Married Leland McTimmonds Feb 23,1941, in Albany. The couple made their first home in Sheridan and , from 1955 to 1999, lived in Grants Pass. Mrs. McTimmonds worked many years as a secretary for M & Y Lumber Co. of Grants Pass. She was known as a good home maker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She liked raising flowers and sewing and other needlework. She especially enjoyed her Grandchildren. Mrs. McTimmonds is survived by Leland, her husband of nearly 60 years, Also surviving are son Terry of Snohomish,Washington; daughter Marcia Lovejoy of Cave Junction; brother Norman Roth of Albany; sisters Gladys Stutzman, Violet Schrock, Grace Headings, Della Steckly, Mildred Steckly, and Marian Mitchell, all of Albany, and four grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters died earlier. Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Huston -Jost Funeral Home. Mrs. McTimmonds funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Mennonite Church in Albany. Burial will be at the Fairview Mennonite Cemetery. E. L. Wood of Lebanon officiating. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery. (Brownsville Pioneer Cem.) Frank Crabtree was born in Brownsville on January 16, 1903, and with the exception of about three years spent in the U.S. Forest service at Oakridge his life has been spent in this vicinity. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Lucy Crabtree of this place; five sisters and two brothers. Lebanon Express Monday April 29, 1968 GEORGE W. CRABTREE George W. Crabtree, 67, 50 N. Sixth S., died Sunday, April 28 at Lebanon Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was born July 4, 1900 at Brownsville, son of the pioneer family of Joseph and Lucille Crabtree, part of the family which settled the area now known as Crabtree. He was raised in Brownsville and lived there until coming to Lebanon in 1947 where he had since made his home. He was a retired Southern Pacific Railroad employee and farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Lebanon. He married Olive I. Seleen, Oct. 1, 1940 at Vancouver, Wash., who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Vernila Sander, Eden Prairie, Minn.; a brother, John Crabtree, Springfield; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Shea, Lebanon; Mrs. Sade Lampaman, Stayton; Mrs. Nettie Freele and Mrs. Edna Verdiech, both of Salem and four grandchildren. Services are pending at Huston Funeral Home.
