She was born May 22, 1953 to Clarence H. Harley and Esda Marie (Rust) Harley in Oroville, Calif. She attended school in Waldport and graduated in May 1953. She married Donald R. Brabham on Nov. 14, 1953 and they had a daughter, Diane June, born in 1954. She and her husband later divorced. Throughout her life, she worked as a waitress and a shop owner for the last few years. She resided in Yachats since 1983 and was owner of "Shirley's" shop in Yachats. In addition to owning the shop, she enjoyed flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence H. Harley and Esda Marie (Rust) Harley, and her brother Jack Harley. She is survived by her daughter, Diane June (Brabham) Sanderlin, of Portland, Ore.; brothers, Bert (Elaine) Harley of Yachats, Richard (Joan) Harley of Bend, Eldon Harley of Newport; sister, Nadine Nessel of Yachats; sister-in-law, Hazel (Mrs. Jack) Harley, of Helena, Mont.; and grandsons, Aaron Sanderlin of Newport and John Sanderlin of Portland. A memorial service will be held at a later date with a private burial at Yachats Memorial Park Cemetery. Affordable Burial and Cremation in Newport is handling arrangements.
