He was born March 3, 1942 to Athel and Lillian (Mollenhour) Briley in Merrill, Ore. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968. On April 27, 1968 he married Sandra Spinney in Reno, Nev. He was preceded in death by his father, Athel Briley, and grandson, Cody Briley. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandra Briley of Springfield; his mother, Lillian Briley; sons, Michael Briley of Springfield, Douglas Briley of Molalla, and Jeffrey Briley of Darrington, Wash.; sisters, Linda Winheim of Newport and Kathy Wilson of Logsden; brothers, Richard Briley of Mayhill, N.M., Dale Briley of Portland, David Briley of Philomath, and Forrest Briley of Sisters; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, at Twin Rivers Baptist Church, 1660 Mohawk Blvd. in Springfield, Ore. A private burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
