JOHNSON Funeral services for Clifford Henry Johnson of Siletz are being held today (Thursday) at a.m. in the Newport Chapel of Pacific Mortuaries. Cremation will follow with inurnment in Chelan Abbey. Johnson was born November 9, 1911, near Quincy, and he died January 23 at his home following an extended illness. He attended schools in Quincy and moved to Siletz in 1931, where he has lived since. He was a tower engineer on Georgia-Pacific South Tract logging operation until failing health forced his retirement. He had been hospitalized most of the time for the past eight months. Johnson was a member of the International Woodworkers Union. Survivors include his widow, Caroline of Siletz; and five uncles: Elmer and Fred Colvin of Deer Island, Howard Colvin of Vernonia, and Harold and Evana Colvin of Clatskanie. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in is memory to the Oregon Cancer Society. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
