She was born Feb. 4, 1931 to John and Mayme (Pratton) Yonce in Columbus, Mont. She worked for 30 years in government service, beginning in Missoula, Mont. for three years with the Forest Service, 11 years with the Veteran's Administration in Albuquerque, N.M. and with the Corps of Engineers in Walla Walla, Wash. for 16 years. After retiring, she spent the last 20 years on the Oregon coast. She was an accomplished artist and gardener, an active member of Kiwanis, AARP and the Pacific City Community Center. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, bridge playing and numerous volunteer acts in the community. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, George Kirkham; daughter, Diana (Don) Smith; sister, Phyliss (George) Geesey; brothers, Lloyd (Mae) Yonce of Chapel Hill, N.C. and David (Aylene) Yonce of Lilliwaup, Wash.; brother-in-law Roy (Margaret) Kirkham; and many nieces and nephews.
