She was born August 5, 1928 to Robert and Dorothy Foat. She was a lifelong resident of Oregon. She was among the first class to graduate from the then brand new North Salem High School. She married Ray Coursey in 1949. They ran a rabbit farm in the Salem area, and welcomed a son, Michael, and a daughter, Janet. The marriage later ended in 1960. In 1961, she married Roy Troutt. Although the marriage ended in divorce four years later, she became the loving mother of a second daughter, Sandra, and son, David. She supported her family by working as a checker at Jack's IGA and as a salesperson at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens before becoming the Oregon District Manager for Viking Insurance, where she worked until retiring in 1986. She moved to Sheridan before relocating in Lincoln City, where she could be close to her daughters. Never idle, she can be remembered working at the Kiwanis Thrift Shop, as well as running a successful pet/house sitting service. Her hobbies included making everything around her beautiful, and making those around her laugh and feel good. She was an avid NASCAR fan, always cheering for Greg Biffle, her favorite driver. Her family was her primary source of pleasure and she never tired of finding ways to make them feel loved and supported. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Foat; sister Laviev; brother George; and her son Michael. She is survived by her daughters, Jan Coursey, of Lincoln City and Sandra Roche, of Lincoln City; son, David Troutt of Salem; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service was held at her home. Affordable Burial and Cremation in Lincoln City is handling arrangements.
