Mr. DeBusk, a coastal resident for the past 24 years, died Jan. 11 in a Florence hospital where he had been admitted the preceding day. Born Feb. 2, 1901, in Hiawatha, Kansas, Mr. DeBusk was married April 15, 1937, in Ellensburg, Wash., to L. Margaret Bodle. The family moved to Yachats, then lived for a time near Florence, before returning here to live on Keller Creek, off the Yachats River. A former millworker and logger, Mr. DeBusk had been retired for some years. He was a member of the Yachats Grange No. 809. Surviving in addition to his widow, Margaret in Yachats, are three sons; Dale of Corvallis, Ivan of Yachats and Jerry of Swisshome; four daughters, Dixie of Portland, Mrs. Harry Wilkinson of Swisshome, Mrs. Ron Britt of Portland and Patsy, at home; two brothers, Sam and Ben DeBusk, both of Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Russell McCauley of Holton, Kansas, and Mrs. Fannie Nelson of Hiawatha. Private interment followed in Indian Creek Cemetery, Mapleton, under the direction of Riverside Chapel. Note: "Yachats" is pronounced "Ya-hots".
