She was born June 11, 1948 to William "Harvey" Wallace and Elsie J. (Snyder) Wallace in Corvallis. She graduated from Toledo High School in 1966. She lived and worked in Lincoln County all of her life, and worked for the Best Western Agate Beach Inn in Newport for the past 13 years. She married Eugene P. Ferguson on Dec. 21, 1974 in Bellfountain, Ore. She was a member of the Abundant Life Center, the Sunnyridge Grange and was active in the Democratic Party. She was a 32-year member of the Toledo Eagles Auxiliary, where she worked her way through the chairs in the auxiliary from madam outside guard to the office of madam president in 1991 to 1992. For the last four years, she held the office of madam treasurer and chairperson for the auxiliary charity for Toledo Food Share. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, crafts, charity work and her family. She was preceded in death by her father, William "Harvey" Wallace; her husband, Eugene P. Ferguson; and daughter, Kathy Sue Ferguson II. She is survived by her mother, Elsie J. (Snyder) Wallace of Toledo; son, Peter Ferguson of Toledo; brother, William H. (Debbie) Wallace II of Albany; sisters, Karen McKibben of Toledo, Ruth Boddy of Toledo, Rosemary (Bob) Russell of Toledo and Juanita (Chris) Short of Toledo; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Peter Ferguson c/o West Coast Bank, 222 NE Highway 20, Toledo OR 97391. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Abundant Life Center, 1154 NW "A" St. in Toledo. Affordable Burial and Cremation in Newport is handling arrangements.
