Jones Arvilla "Ivy" R. Jones, 76, of Newport, Ore., died Dec. 20, 2009 at Newport Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 19, 1933 to Tommy Charles Newton and Lessie O. Knust in Rozet, Wyo. She is a graduate of The Dalles High School in The Dalles, and has lived in Lincoln County since 1961. She was married three times and raised four children. She worked in the hospitality industry at several locations throughout Lincoln County. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Newport, and enjoyed dancing, fishing, music, movies and gambling. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Charles Newton and Lessie O. Knust, and her daughter, Ranae S. Conley Denard. She is survived by sons, Stephen L. Conley of Newport, Larry A. Conley of Beaverton and Ronald L. Conley of Florida; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. No memorial service is planned.
