Hansen, 83 of Yachats died at her home Nov. 9, 1997. (Note: "L." middle initial hard to read, may be an "I" or other initial) She was born in Portland on Oct. 5, 1914; she had been a resident of Yachats for the past 10 years and was a previous resident of Cottage Grove. For most of her life, Mrs. Hansen was a homemaker. Her husband, Warren Hansen, preceded her in death, as did a son, Lee Hansen and one brother. Mrs. Hansen was a member of the Yachats Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed church activities, playing bridge and sewing. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and ____ Hansen of Cottage Grove, grandchildren Cindy Tobiasson (?) Suzanne Hansen LaRiviero, and Traci Hanson Miller, and one great grandchild, Heath Miller. Graveside services were held Monday at Restlawn Cemetery in Junction City. A memorial service was held Sunday at the Yachats, Presbyterian Church in Yachats. Bateman Funeral Home of Newport is in charge of the arrangements. Note: "Yachats" is pronounced "Ya-hots".
