Leader Toledo, OR April 21, 1916 DR. S.S. THAYER DIES OF PNEUMONIA Word was received here Saturday of the death of Dr. S.S. Thayer at his home in Paisley, Eastern Oregon, from the effects of pneumonia. Dr. Thayer was for some years a practicing physician of Toledo. In 1904 he, with his family moved to Eastern Oregon, where they have since made their home. Dr. Thayer was married while living in Toledo to Miss Effie Crosno, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Crosno, of this city. Mrs. Thayer has been quite sick for several weeks and his now in a hospital at The Dalles. Her father and mother and sister, Mrs. Carl Gildersleeve, and Mr. Gildersleeve are now there, having been called by Mrs. Thayer's illness. Cliff Crosno left Monday morning also. Dr. Thayer's unexpected death was a shock to the many friends of the family in Toledo, and the sympathy of all go out to the bereaved family in their sorrow.
