Dixon, 62, of Newport died in Lincoln City on October 31, 1997. He was born in Vancouver, Washington May 14, 1935 to William Grover and Mohava Marie Kutzner MoNiemi Dixon. When he was a small child, his family moved to the Newport area, where he graduated from Newport High School. Mr. Dixon married Judy Baily in Stevenson, Washington on March 19, 1956. He was a retired commercial fisherman and owner of the F/V "Corsair". He was a 41 year member of the Toledo Elks Lodge, and a member of the Newport Eagles Lodge. His favorite hobby was riding in his restored 1948 Plymouth convertible. He, also, enjoyed camping in his RV, and loved music, especially country. He is survived by his wife, Judy, a daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Jeff Spikeman of Waikoloa, Hawaii, a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Launette, and a daughter, Tammy Hall, all of Newport; and grandchildren: Jacob and Kyle Hall, and Kaino and Kalli Dixon. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Allen Dixon. Memorial services were held Tuesday at the Bateman Funeral Home Chapel in Newport. The family suggests memorial donatins to be made to the Newport Fisherman's Memorial Fun., PO Box 974, Newport, 97365 or to the Newport Fire Department.
