He was born June 29, 1918 to Christian H. Lunstedt and Pearl E. Robinson Lunstedt in Portland, Ore. He graduated from Tigard High School and was inducted into the U.S. Air Force on May 16, 1942 as an airplane inspector with the Air Offensive Europe out of Great Britain, targeting Northern France, Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and central Europe. He was commended with the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal and a Distinguished Unit Badge. He received an honorable discharge and returned to Oregon. He first settled in South Beach, before moving five miles up the Siletz River and starting a logging company with his brother Donald Charles Lunstedt. They ran log rafts down the Siletz River. After disbanding the logging company, he built multiple houses in between land developing with his brother. He spent years in Jalisco, Mexico before returning in December 2006 after the death of his brother. His son, Ronald Lee Lunstedt preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, John Walter Lunstedt, and Robert Eric Lunstedt. A celebration of life was held March 27 at Unity By The Sea Community Church in Gleneden Beach, and a reception was held at the family home on the Siletz River.
