He was 55. Roger was born Aug. 5, 1954, in Minnesota to Gloria (Mariner) Halle and Roger Hyres. He married Nancy Sutherland on Aug. 28, 1975, in Lincoln City. Following their marriage they lived in Lincoln City, where he worked at Salishan Chevron from 1981 to 1989. He lived in Burlington, Wash., for a while, where he worked at a service station. Roger also spent time in Minnesota, where he worked in multiple wrecking yards from 1993 to 1996. He then moved back to Oregon, where he worked for Babb's Body Shop from 1996 to 2004. During the last seven years, Roger formed a close relationship with God through bible studies and discussions with Pastor Bard. He was baptized at Faith Baptist Church in November 2008. He enjoyed working on cars, hunting, visiting with friends and collecting John Deere and Harley Davidson memorabilia. He also loved spending time with his grandkids, taking care of his dogs and watching the History Channel. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Evans of Otis; son John (Eileen) of Otis; daughter Stacey (Pedro) of McMinnville; son Mike (Gretchen) of Portland; and eight grandchildren.
