She was diagnosed with lung cancer November of last year and has fought the battle with chemotherapy. January of this year, her son, Dan Flescher, passed away. She was informed not long after his death that she herself, only had a few months to live. She was born May 21st, 1939 to Beatrice Rozala Carpenter and Lee Frank Carpenter in Everett, Washington. After her father passed away, her mother moved her entire family to Waldport when she was three years of age. She attended Yachats School. She is survived by her husband, Paul Andrew Flescher of Waldport; children: Carrie Edith Burage of Sheboygan, WI, Norma Overby of Astoria, Oregon, Don House of Aethna, Oregon, Dora Young of Newport, Oregon and Dianna McIntosh of Waldport, Oregon; grandchildren: Paul Doty, Angie Doty, Skyler Overby, Paul Overby, Amanda Gibson, Andrew Deal, Ben Burrage, Tyler Burrage, Daniel Flescher, Jessica Flescher, Chad House, Dora Shearer, Paul Plough, Nathen Plough, Norman Plough, Thomas McIntosh, Ashley Santana, Austen Cleland and Shelby Cleland; brother, Jim Carpenter of Astoria, Oregon and sister, Betty Rife of Grand Ronde, Oregon. She is also survived by her 28 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her two sons: Dan Flescher and Paul Andrew Flescher Jr; her mother, Beatrice (Carpenter) Otter, her father, Lee Carpenter, sisters: Murrial Carpenter, Agness Carpenter, Edna Baldwin, Mildred Meyers; brothers: Leonard Carpenter, Willard Carpenter, Willias Carpenter, Harold Carpenter, Earl Carpenter, Gordon Carpenter, Raymond Carpenter, Floyd Carpenter, Vernon Carpenter and Thomas Otter. Memorial services will be held on April 13th, 2013 from 1:00 - 4:00pm at Yachats Memorial Park 1550 Highway 101, Yachats, OR 97498 with a reception following at the Yachats Community Presbyterian Church 360 West 7th Street, Yachats, OR 97498.
