Smith's diary 1941-1952 names people he fished or did business with on the Alsea River and Fall Creek - and for several years he owned a farm he called Fall Creek Ranch. He may have sold the ranch to Russell Woodruff in 1944 & bought a house in Delake & was close friends with Everett & Orlena Ivie.
