She was born on November 23rd, 1930 in Gresham, Ore., to Arley Hornish and Myrtle Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Kirkland, sister Rita Lanman and 4 grandchildren, Travis Kirkland, Sara Goddard-Trenholm, Matthew Altstock and Danielle Bruhn.
