She was born May 3, 1940, in Silverton, Oregon to Elma Ray and Hal Moffett. Jan married Keith Forcier on August 22, 1958 at the Church of St. Vincent De Paul in Salem, Oregon. Gardening, reading, painting and being with her family were the joys in her life. Jan owned and operated "By the Sea Books" in Yachats from 1996 to 2003. She was voted Business of the year by the Chamber of Commerce in 2000, but Jan always said her greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her seven (7) children. Jan is survived by her children: Chris (Lorie) Forcier of Waldport, Deedee (Larry) Skriver of Newport, Cory (Patti) Forcier of Siletz, Nikki (Arch) Hamilton of Yachats, Keely Forcier of Tidewater, Jana Silva of Tscumbia, Alabama, Jamie Forcier also of Tscumbia, Alabama. She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Jan is preceded in death by her husband Keith Forcier and her parents Elma Money and Hal Moffett. A celebration of life will be held at South Beach Church, 3335 SW Coast Hwy, South Beach, Or. on Saturday, September 14th @ 2:00 p.m. Note: "Yachats" is pronounced "Ya-hots".
