Steward Charles L. Steward, 88, passed away June 13, 2013 at his home in Newport, Oregon. Charles was born January 25, 1925 to Charles and Belva Steward in Ashland, OR. After high school he was drafted into the Army. He served in 5 campaigns in Europe, including D-Day. After discharge, he married Jeanette Ferguson in 1946. His recent employment was with the I.L.W.U. - Local 19 - Seattle as a Longshoreman. After retirement, they moved to Oregon in 1989. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jeanette; a son, Steven of Newport, OR; daughter, Lynn of Auburn, WA; 2 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren of WA and a sister, Ona of Issaquah, WA. A military service will be held June 24, 2013, 2:30 pm at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
