He was 60. Bob, a.k.a. Wood Carver Bob, was born Aug. 8, 1949, in Redmond to Betty Lou & Willard Lehnen. Robert served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam from 1967 through 1971. After marrying Sheri D. Lynch, they made their home in Lincoln City where they had two sons, Josh and Charley Lehnen. Robert started a small business called Lehnen's Wood Works. He had a real eye for art. His influence came from life's loves and loved ones like his father, Will, who was an excellent artist. Bob used only a chainsaw for his carvings and used marbles for the eyes. You can find them all over, just look for his mark of a seagull. One of his carvings he is best known for is in Estacada. It is the huge wooden logger in town. Some people know Robert as a son, father, uncle, grandpa, while others know him as The Wood Carver. Many know him for his smile and sense of humor and for his kind heart. Robert is survived by his mother, Betty Lou; brother, Mick; sons, Josh and Charley; grandson, Luke; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; nephews, Chris and Joe; and niece, Suzann Lehnen. For those who would like to pay their respects, he will have a spot at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland - just ask the family for further information. Services are entrusted to Pacific View Memorial Chapel. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
