He was born June 3, 1964 to Imogene and Leslie Bond Jr. in Toledo, Ore. He attended Waldport High School, and received his Journeyman Plumbing License at Chemeketa Community College. He entered the Marine Corps in 1986 and was in boot camp in Camp League, N.C. While he was in the service, he had two children, Britny Ann Bond and Scott Michael Bond. After discharge from the Marines in 1990, he moved back to Waldport. He married Khadija Marie Crenshaw in Reno, Nev. on Nov. 19, 1994. He worked as a journeyman plumber for the majority of his employment. He attended the Waldport Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Les Bond Jr. He is survived by his wife, Khadija Bond of Waldport; his mother, Imogene Bond of Waldport; his children, Britny Ann Bond of Bend, and Scott Michael Bond of Waldport; siblings, Cheryl (Steve) Alborn of Lebanon, Les "Buddy" (Colleen) Bond of Waldport, Debra L. Dawson of Newport, Earl (Nancy) Bond of Lebanon, and James (Jen) Bond of Blodgett; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service with full military honors will be at noon Saturday, May 29, at the Waldport Assembly of God Church. A funeral procession, led by the Patriot Guard Riders, will meet at the Newport Elks parking lot at 10:30 a.m., departing at 11 a.m. to the Assembly of God Church in Waldport for services at noon. Memorial donations may be made to the Barry L. Bond Memorial Fund c/o US Bank in Newport. Affordable Burial and Cremation in Newport is handling arrangements.
