He was born July 16, 1930 to William and Sadie (Jones) McKinnis in Klamath Falls. He graduated from Springfield Union High School in 1949, and worked as a truck driver during his life. He was a member of the Waldport Seventh Day Adventist Church, holding offices of deacon and elder. He loved camping, fishing, going on picnics and family gatherings. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty McKinnis of Waldport; daughters, Becky Cummins of Paul, Idaho, and Molly (Alphonso) Raya, of Ecatapec, Mexico; sons, Eddy Lee McKinnis of Port Orford; Terry (Kim) McKinnis, of Mapleton; Robin (Jacci) McKinnis of Toone, Tenn.; Randy C. McKinnis of Waldport; and Ricky L. McKinnis of Waldport; sister, Ethel Niderost of Walla Walla, Wash.; sister-in-law, Ann Dedfoor; and brother-in-law, Ruben Dedfoor; 26 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
